Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers increase volume, soften wrinkles, enhance lips, and restore the youthful three-dimensional contours of the face. Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected into the skin to physically lift and sculpt it, correcting wrinkles, folds, scars and asymmetries of the face.There are many filler choices available on the market. At the Face Place MedSpa™ we only use hyaluronan-based fillers. These products are totally biodegradable and safe. Hyaluronan is a sugar molecule found naturally in our bodies, which unfortunately we lose from our skin as we age. By injecting hyaluronan directly back into the skin at different depths, we can achieve various effects. At the Face Place MedSpa™ we use fillers to reduce lines and folds, to assist in filling out larger volume loss such as sunken cheeks, to correct ‘problems’ such as small cheekbones and chin or certain nose shapes, and even to plump up aging or bony hands.
The typical areas of Dermal Filler treatment include:
- nasolabial folds (Dermal Fillers are great for lines or folds from the sides of the nose to the end of the lips)
- perioral area (wrinkles around the lips)
- lip enhancement
- hollows under the eyes
- softening early jowls
- marionette lines (lines from the corners of the mouth to the jawline, accentuating the downturn of the mouth).
Other treatments include using dermal fillers for acne scars, filling and lifting the mid face, cheek-enhancement, brow-lift and the ‘liquid facelift’.
