Botox® is our most popular procedure. Used artfully, it softly reduces dynamic wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that create lines, giving you natural looking results that look like a younger, fresher version of you. Unless Dysport or Xeomin is requested, we use genuine Botox, which has been safely used for over 20 years in a range of medical and cosmetic applications. Your treatment will be tailored for you during your personalised assessment, which is why we charge for what we use (per unit). You will generally see results within 1-2 weeks, which can last 6 weeks to 6 months, depending on the dose and area treated.
We believe there is an art to Botox and the wrinkle relaxing treatments. You laugh, you frown, you concentrate and when you do, these facial expressions break down the supporting structures in your facial muscles. The medicine needs to be placed in the right muscle, in the best dose, in the correct place. Our aim is to turn the muscle activity down, but not off, so you still have some facial expression. We use lower doses more regularly, which is why we are renowned for our beautiful, natural looking results.
Yes, as with all of our services, you must have an initial-consultation before proceeding with your first treatment - regardless of if you have had this treatment elsewhere. This ensures you are fully educated and informed before proceeding with treatment. We are a best-practice clinic and consistently deliver optimal results by placing paramount importance on education and informed consent.
Botox is a prescription medicine made from a naturally occurring purified protein which relaxes muscles.
When used cosmetically it relaxers the muscles that create specific lines such as the frown and crow's feet.
Yes. Botox has been used cosmetically for over 20 years with no known side effects. The medicine is also used for over 300 different medical conditions, usually in doses from 100 - 800 units per treatment. Comparatively, cosmetic treatments use doses of around 20 units.
No. Allergan (the leading manufacturer of Botox®) spent billions of dollars to remove the need for animal testing. The Botox we use in our clinic has not been tested on animals. All treatments and products must be non-animal in origin to enter our clinic.
No. You can stop whenever you like with no adverse effects. The nice thing about Botox is that if you have one treatment and decide not to continue, your muscles will go back to normal and the lines will gradually come back, but if you consistently have a series of treatments, we start to 'train' the muscles, and the lines will take a lot longer to come back. Botox reduces the damage to the skin caused by facial expressions and gives skin space to repair.
No. You may resume all normal activities straight after being treated however, we do recommend no leaning or putting pressure on the treated sites for up to 5 days. After consent and education, the actual Botox treatment is relatively quick - expect 10 minutes.
There has been no serious or long term side effects in the cosmetic doses, in over 25 years of using it cosmetically, and no allergic reactions in over 30 years of using it medically. Some of the potential side effects are mild and temporary swelling, bruising or redness.
