Are you looking to improve the texture and hydration of your skin and address early skin laxity on your face, neck, hands or decolletage? Profhilo could be the ideal solution for you. This injectable bio-remodelling treatment hydrates the skin from within, improves skin texture and boosts glow, while it also remodels skin laxity.
Profhilo is an entirely new type of hyaluronic acid injectable gel that not only hydrates beneath the skin but also has a prolonged stimulating activity on the fibroblasts (skin cells).
Profhilo has one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market (64 mg / 2 ml). When injected into skin, Profhilo stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin. This means it not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue.
Its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin and improve skin texture makes it significantly different from other ‘injectable moisturiser’ treatments.
Profhilo can be used all over the face, or other areas such as neck, hands or decolletage, to improve skin texture and quality.
Dr Catherine Stone attended the launch of Profhilo in Paris five years ago, and was one of the first to be chosen to take part in the initial NZ trials. The results of the trial, combined with the positive support from Dr Cat’s global aesthetic network, has resulted in The Face Place adding this treatment to our repertoire of non-surgical Cosmedicine offerings
Yes, as with all of our services, you must have an initial-injectable consultation before proceeding with your first Profhilo treatment - regardless of if you have had this treatment elsewhere. This ensures you are fully educated and informed, to The Face Place’s standard, before proceeding with treatment. We are a best-practice clinic and consistently deliver optimal results by placing paramount importance on education and informed consent.
Profhilo is not a dermal filler. Where usual dermal filler products work to fill lines, add structure and volume, Profhilo works as a skin-conditioning treatment.
It an ‘injectable moisturiser’ - but so much more. Its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin and improve skin texture makes it significantly different from other ‘injectable moisturiser’ treatments.
Profhilo has opened up a new injectable category – bio-remodeling.
To summarise the complex science, it contains two types of HA. Together they combine to provide both a ‘Hydro’ effect and a volumetric ‘Lift’ effect.
Because it is in cross-linked, stabilised form, Profhilo lasts in the skin around 28 days. During this time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of HA.
Thus it not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but it also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue.
Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally within our skin but is depleted as we age. Profhilo replaces the lost HA, but this treatment gives more than just hydration, because it stimulates collagen and elastin as well. It also has a bio-revitalising effect on tissue, tightening and rejuvenating it to improve laxity.
It contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market (64 mg / 2 ml). Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance in our skin. It is a hydrophilic substance, which absorbs water and hydrates our cells. Our body’s production of HA decreases from the age of 27 resulting in our skin becoming thinner, drier and more fragile.
Profhilo is an injectable treatment that improves the appearance and hydration of the skin as well as skin texture. Profhilo is best suited for anyone noticing skin laxity, crepiness and lack of glow in the face, neck or hands.
Profhilo takes a few weeks before you start to notice any visible improvement, mainly because the body has to produce the skin-boosting ingredients itself.
Profhilo usually involves two treatments spaced one month apart. Some people may require three treatments.
The results from Profhilo treatments will most often last for up to nine months, but results can differ from person to person.
Typically, patients find the best results by repeating Profhilo treatments from six to 12 months to maintain.
Profhilo injections are well-tolerated without numbing cream.
There are five specific BAP (bio aesthetic point) injection sites on each side of the face or neck where the clinican injects Profhilo into facial skin. From here, Profhilo gradually spreads out across the facial tissue.
It has a very sheer, runny texture which means it spreads out across the face very well, so this means that multiple injection sites are not required.
The results from Profhilo treatments will usually last for up to six months, but will vary for every person. We suggest maintenance sessions every once or twice a year.
Profhilo® has been widely used in Europe for the past five years. Over a million syringes have been administered, and crucially, it has a very well-established safety profile.
As with any injectable treatment, there is a risk of swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising for 24-48 hours after treatment.
Initial lumps may take 24-48 hours to settle completely. There is a very rare risk of potential infection or prolonged lumps. Lumps are more visible when treating the neck; they are less noticeable on the face.
Lumps visible immediately after treatment on neck
Lumps on neck reduced after 24 hours
Because Profhilo's beneath-the-surface stimulation of cell renewal occurs over the skin's natural skin cycle, there is no risk of a puffy, bloated or obviously treated appearance.
Rarely allergy can occur to Hyaluranon or the local anaesthetic cream. It can be treated with antihistamines. There is a small risk of infection which can be treated with antibiotics.
