Initial Injectable Consultation

It’s our fundamental belief that great outcomes start with great conversations. To start your journey with us at The Face Place, whether you’re a seasoned pro with injectable treatments or exploring them for the first time, your first step is an initial consultation.

We’re all about listening deeply and engaging in honest conversations, empowering you with the education you need to make an informed decision about your treatment. This is when we begin to get to know you, with a friendly chat leading to a long-term relationship (if only dating were this easy!)

We do things differently from many other clinics, and our highly trained medical team truly invest their time in this part of our service. This appointment is all about you – tailoring your plan to suit your unique face. Think of The Face Place as an à la carte menu rather than a meal deal from a burger chain! (Don’t get us wrong, we love our fries but your face deserves a little more personal, bespoke attention).

Before you even meet with us, we offer you a detailed pre-injectable questionnaire. This will provide our medical team with all the information needed to ensure a highly personalised experience, based on your medical history, lifestyle and desired outcomes. To continue with the dating analogy, we’re reading your bio before meeting IRL – and it’s always good to have a little intel! This means we’re fully prepped and ready to devote all our expertise to you.

We also deeply appreciate that you are putting your trust in us. That’s no small thing, especially when it comes to your face. For that reason, we don’t have any sales targets or commissions. When we suggest a treatment plan, you can be confident we have your own interests at heart – we’re not trying to upsell you.

OUR TEAM

Injectable treatments are performed by our medical team, consisting of Dr Catherine Stone and our highly trained registered cosmedicine nurses. See all our photos along the slider below, and click on any photo to access the Team page with our full bios.

Our pricing structure is based on the seniority of the clinician (see below for more detailed information).

FAQs

We are often asked if we offer free consults. Strictly speaking, the answer is no. However we redeem your consult fee on your injectable treatment, should you decide to go ahead. What that means is you will pay $250 with one of our nursing team (or $500 with Dr Cat) and receive up to an hour of our professional time assessing your needs, explaining the technology and talking you through all your options.  This consult fee ($250 or $500) is then deducted from your injectable treatment, should you decide to go ahead.

If you choose to have Botox, this can be done during the same appointment. If you choose to have dermal filler, this treatment is a little more complex so we give you time to think it over and make a subsequent appointment for it. In both cases the Initial Injectable Consultation cost is deducted from your Botox or filler treatment cost.

If you decide not to go ahead with any treatment at all, you will simply pay the consult cost. That’s totally fine too – our team are not under any sales targets or commissions, and we totally respect your decision to say no. You will still have received valuable information and input during your session, so it’s a win-win whether you choose to be treated or not.

We charge per unit of Botox, based on the seniority of our clinicians.

This means so we can tailor the exact results you’re after, and let you choose the price level that suits you. (Rest assured though, at any level our nurses are all highly trained and mentored by Dr Cat.)

Cosmedicine nurse – $18 per unit

Senior cosmedicine nurse – $21 per unit

Advanced senior cosmedicine nurse – $23 per unit

Dr Cat – $30 per unit

We’re highly trained minimalists who believe in a very natural, balanced aesthetic – we pride ourselves on using fewer units to greater effect.

To give you an idea of units required, here are some averages, although this will always vary based on your personal assessment and strength of your facial muscles. This is a guide only.

Frown line – 10-30 units for women, 20-40 units for men

Crow’s feet – 10-30 units

Masseters – 10-20 units on each side

Underarms (for excessive sweating) – approx 100 units in total

We charge per 1ml syringe of dermal filler, and the price varies depending on the type of dermal filler.

Prices are for 1ml syringe with a nurse/doctor

Juvederm Ultra XC $750/$795

Juvederm Ultra Plus XC/Volift/Volbella/Voluma $950/$995 or $1500/1800 for 2ml

Juvederm Volux $1150/$1200

Juvederm Volite $1500/$1600

Profhilo (2ml) $1600/$1600

Beletero Balance $950/995

Beletero Soft $950/$995

Once a 1ml syringe is opened it is no longer sterile if it’s not used immediately –  therefore we cannot offer less than this amount for hygiene and safety reasons. However, while we never want to overfill (‘less is more’ should be monogrammed on our pillows!), we’re experts at assessing the best places for a little subtle touch-up. For example if 0.6ml was plenty for your lips, we might suggest using the remaining product in another area, so that the entire 1ml was used without waste or without you looking overdone.  If there is nowhere else to put it (because you already look amazing), take it as a compliment. At the end of the day, you’re paying for the the skills and experience of your clinician to provide a beautiful, natural-looking result, you don’t want to look worse just to use up product!

No, our two-week follow-up appointments are complimentary – they’re our favourite part! At this appointment we will assess your results, get your feedback, note any possible improvements, and take your confidential ‘After’ photos. If you wish to, we can also make any minor changes to ensure you have the best possible results. We charge for what we use, and start with the lowest possible dose to get you a good result, so if we top up at your follow up, you will just pay for what is used for your top up.

  • Note, even though the appointment itself is complimentary, please let us know if you cannot attend. Because we allocate our clinician’s time to this appointment (blocking them from taking other appointments), our cancellation policy still applies.

Who doesn’t feel better after a bit of a zhoosh up? We want you to walk out with a spring in your step, so we offer complientary Jane Iredale mineral makeup application after Botox (with dermal filler, makeup is not advised until 24 hours afterwards for health reasons). Our front desk team are also a trained ‘glam squad’ so you can rest assured you’ll leave looking great!

And while we take our work seriously, we also have fun doing it so chances are you’ll have a fun chat and a bit of a laugh with our team while you’re at it. These moments are some of the best in our day!
