Lip Filler

Lip filler is a popular treatment to restore and enhance lip contours and add volume.

Balance, harmony and proportion are all important when treating lips – we pride ourselves on beautiful, natural looking lips that are harmonised with the rest of the face. No duck lips here!

Genetics, internal and external factors all play a part in the volume of your lips and this volume invariably decreases over time.

Dermal filler can be a highly effective treatment to restore volume and hydration, while also enhancing the borders of the lips and lifting the mouth corners resulting in a happier, hydrated, gently enhanced appearance, without looking overdone.

Fillers can also be used around the lip area to create support for the lips, and indirectly improve the lips while enhancing your overall facial appearance.

We want to highlight what is beautiful and unique to you by making small yet significant enhancements.

FAQs

Where do I start?
As with all of our injectable treatments, an Initial Injectable Consultation is required before proceeding with your first treatment – regardless of if you have had this treatment elsewhere. This ensures you are fully educated and informed before proceeding with treatment. We are a best-practice clinic and consistently deliver optimal results by placing paramount importance on education and informed consent.

We will take some ‘before’ photos and if you wish to proceed with treatment we will book you an appointment for a later date.

The treatment itself will take between 20-60 minutes, as we are very focused on achieving balance in your face, and it takes time to ensure a beautiful, natural looking result.

Is lip filler safe?

We use only Hyaluronic Acid (HA) based fillers such as Juvederm and Belotero. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in our bodies, and its job in the skin is to attract water and create plumpness. We lose HA from the skin as we age, hence lines, dryness and thinning. By using these types of fillers, we are simply returning lost HA to the skin but in a stabilized form so that it lasts longer.

Is lip filler permanent?
No, the HA (Hyaluronic Acid) fillers that we use are not permanent. HA is composed of a sugar molecule which is also produced naturally in the body, it dissolves and is excreted by the body over time.

Lip filler typically lasts between 3-12 months depending on the product used, and how many prior treatments.

We also have the ability to dissolve HA fillers using a product called hyaluronidase. The hyaluronidase enzyme works within 48 hours, and can often start breaking down the HA filler as soon as it’s injected into the skin.

How much lip filler will I need?
This will be decided upon in your initial consultation with your clinician. They will assess your lips and face proportions and make a plan for treatment including cost and dosage amount.
How much do you charge for lip filler?
We charge per 1ml syringe of dermal filler. For lip filler we use Juvederm and Beletero products, which are $1045 (with a nurse) and $1100 (with Dr Cat).

Once a 1ml syringe is opened it is no longer sterile if it’s not used immediately – therefore we cannot offer less than this amount for hygiene and safety reasons. However, while we never want to overfill (‘less is more’ should be monogrammed on our pillows!), we’re experts at assessing the best places for a little subtle touch-up using the remaining product, if that would suit you.
