HArmonyCa: A New Treatment for Skin Support and Glow

It was a pleasure to attend the launch of HArmonyCa in Sydney, hosted by Allergan, alongside my wonderful colleagues Dr Jenni and Janny. The event provided a fantastic learning opportunity, with live demonstrations and insightful presentations from leading experts in aesthetic medicine.

We had the privilege of hearing from internationally renowned injectors Dr Andre Braz and Dr Sheila Mulatti, who shared their experience using HArmonyCa over the past 10 years. Both speakers spoke highly of the product and the consistent results they have seen in their practices.

Sydney-based Allergan Key Opinion Leaders, Dr Cara McDonald and Dr Steven Liew, also presented their early experience after trialing the product over the past six months. They reported seeing noticeable improvements in patients, particularly in skin quality and facial support.

One of the fascinating sessions was delivered by Dr Stefania Roberts, who presented ultrasound imaging showing measurable improvements in the thickness of the dermal layers before and after treatment with HArmonyCa. Seeing the structural changes beneath the skin provided valuable insight into how the product works.

HArmonyCa offers a dual-effect approach by combining two technologies in a single syringe. The product contains 70% cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) and 30% calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA). This unique combination allows for both immediate lifting and longer-term skin regeneration.

Dr Steven Liew explained that HArmonyCa is particularly suited for patients concerned about skin ‘thinning, wrinkling, crinkling, and laxity’, changes that occur when the skin loses strength, integrity, and structural support.

The hyaluronic acid component provides an instant lifting and volumising effect, while the calcium hydroxyapatite stimulates collagen production, specifically Type I and Type III collagen, helping to gradually improve skin quality over time. Visible improvements typically continue to develop over the following three months as collagen stimulation occurs.

HArmonyCa is ideally used in the lateral areas of the face, helping to lift, firm, and support the dermal layers while improving overall skin structure.

Attending this launch was an inspiring experience, and we are always excited to stay at the forefront of new innovations in aesthetic medicine so we can continue bringing the latest, evidence-based treatments to our patients.
