Coming Home: My First Month as Medical Director at The Face Place

What a month I have just had! It is hard to believe I have been back at The Face Place for a month now. It has been such an easy and seamless transition for me. I felt like I was home again after a number of years away.  

It has been wonderful to reconnect with the team that I knew from previously working at The Face Place, and to get to know those team members new to me. I love coming into work each day to the quiet serenity and professionalism of the team. The Face Place already represents many of the values I stand for and work by- integrity, ethics and excellence. 

I have so many ideas of how I'd like to see us grow and expand on what Cat has developed over the years, but for now my focus is on getting to know the systems and personality of the business and you our wonderful patients.  

It was lovely to catch up with Cat at the Empower Me Pink fundraising event last week and support her emotional and heartfelt retelling of her breast cancer journey. We both voiced how grateful we were to the other- Cat for the ability to now enjoy her free time, and me for the new journey of captaining The Face Place ship. 

We're now heading into our busy time. I hope to see many of you in the clinic over the coming months. Please if you see me, do come and introduce yourself to me. I would love to meet you.
